Managing Heart Failure Doesn’t Have to Be Overwhelming.
Do you feel lost or confused about what to eat, what exercise is safe, or what your medications actually do?
Do you leave appointments with more questions than answers?
Are you worried about ending up back in hospital — or simply feeling worse?
Have you been short of breath?
Do you have fluid on your lungs?
Don't just live with heart failure. Learn how you could THRIVE. It's not your fault if you have heart failure. But what you do about it is up to you! AND it isn't all up to your doctor either. Heart failure doesn't have to be a death sentence. Well managed, you should be able to get on with your life, enjoy it and get back to spending time with your loved ones, doing the things you want to. There are now an estimated 66 Million people in the world diagnosed and living (and sadly dying) with this disease.
What I wish more people knew, is that it doesn't have to be that way. Whilst medications and devices have transformed this space and saved millions of lives, there's a "but" here and it's a very big "BUT".
So much of this depends on early diagnosis and treatment of this condition. There are a few simple practices that can make EVERY difference to the natural path of suffering that seems to follow.
Yes, I'm talking about being breathless, fatigued, bouncing in and out of hospital with fluid on the lungs, suffering swollen feet and legs, wondering how you've put on weight when you've lost your appetite and struggle to eat anything!
Once you could walk anywhere and now you're struggling to manage to shower or make a bed or carry in the shopping (let alone do the shopping!) You can't find shoes to fit your feet and have to resort to slippers, crocs or slides.
A heart failure diagnosis brings genuine fears and confusion. It can keep you up at night, not just because you might be afraid you'll wake up short of breath, or can't lie down flat because of difficulty breathing, but because you are stressed and worried. "What does this mean? What should I do? How will my family cope? How will I cope? What medications should I take? What medications shouldn't I take? Does it make a difference what I eat? Is it safe to exercise? How can I even do any exercise when I'm like this? What will benefit me? Would one of those pacemaker things help me? Does my family need to know CPR? Do I need a cardiologist? Do I need a heart failure specialist? What if I can't get one? What if my area doesn't have any of this? Do I have to avoid salt? Should I drink lots for my kidneys (like all my family/friends tell me)?" And so many more questions....
There are answers... and YOU should have them!

motivated to implement change to stop the vicious cycle of heart failure

Heart failure patients are often given medications, a brief consultation, and then sent home — expected to manage a complex condition on their own. But knowledge is power. And implementation of that knowledge can mean the difference between living well or being sick, hospitalised or worse. Structured education, ongoing support to implement clear strategies to look after your health, and compassionate guidance can make the difference between fear and empowerment, and in many cases, life and death.
I’m a heart failure cardiologist with over 25 years of experience — on a mission to empower patients to thrive not just survive after diagnosis. I've curated this unique space especially for you to live well, stay informed and feel supported.
Now you might be thinking "I haven't seen anything like this before. is it real? Why don't I have this in my area? Surely my doctors have access to a service like this that I could be involved in?" ...... I've never heard of one. To my knowledge, this is a brand new way of supporting heart failure patients and helping them get what they need fast. I've heard of 18 month waits to see cardiologists in many regions. Patients get in too much trouble when their visits are that far apart. I'm here to change that.
In a time-poor medical system, this unique expert-led program fills the gap — giving patients the tools they need to take control of their health, day by day. I created this for the people I’ve met over decades of practice and because I know how much more support patients truly need and deserve.
You don't have to be alone in your journey. I'm here to walk it with you. Heart failure doesn’t pause between appointments. Neither should your care.
This program was built to be the calm in the storm — a place where you can learn at your own pace, ask questions without feeling rushed, and feel supported by someone who knows the road you’re on. It's here to support (not replace) your medical care. If you read this far, I'm betting this is exactly what you are missing.
You deserve more than a prescription and a 15 minute appointment. You deserve clarity, confidence, and care that continues beyond the clinic room.

No — and this point matters enormously to me. Your treating medical team are the people responsible for your clinical care, and that relationship is irreplaceable. The Heart Failure Collective is not a medical service and does not provide personalised medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. What it provides is the education, community and ongoing support that exists between your appointments — the layer that the healthcare system currently doesn't have the capacity to deliver. Always consult your treating clinician about your specific health circumstances.
Please call 000 immediately or present to your nearest emergency department. (000 in Australia, 911 in the US, and 999 in the UK). The Heart Failure Collective is an educational membership community — it is not an emergency service and is not monitored for urgent medical concerns. If you are ever unsure whether your symptoms require immediate attention, please seek emergency care without delay. We do cover warning signs and escalation frameworks within our content — but in a real emergency, please always call 000 (or your local emergency number) first.
This is a great question, and the honest answer is: most cardiologists simply don't have the time. A 15-minute appointment every few months is not enough space to cover fluid management, safe exercise, medication understanding, emotional wellbeing, warning signs, and the dozens of other things that genuinely affect how you live with heart failure day to day. The Collective doesn't compete with your cardiologist — it complements them. Many members find that the education they gain here makes their actual appointments more productive, because they arrive knowing better questions to ask.
Absolutely. Caring for someone with heart failure carries its own significant weight — the worry, the practical management, the emotional toll, and often the feeling that you're navigating it without enough information either. Understanding heart failure deeply makes a real difference to how you support someone you love, and to your own wellbeing. Carers are genuinely welcome here, and the community reflects that.
Yes. I've specifically chosen platforms that don't require any technical skill beyond basic internet use. If you can read this page and send an email, you can access the Collective. Content is delivered in a straightforward member portal, and the community is simple to navigate. If you ever get stuck, support is available to help you get set up.
As much or as little as works for you. The monthly masterclass is typically 30–45 minutes. The live "Ask the Cardiologist" session runs for approximately one hour. Beyond that, the community and Foundation Library are there whenever you want them — there's no requirement to engage at any particular pace. Many members dip in and out depending on how they're feeling, and that's completely fine. Everything is recorded and available to revisit.
These are monthly live sessions where members can submit questions directly to me. No topic is off limits within the scope of general heart failure education — from medications and fluid management to exercise, sleep, emotional wellbeing, and knowing when to worry. Questions can be submitted in advance if you can't attend live, and sessions are recorded for members who can't make the scheduled time. These sessions are general and educational in nature and do not constitute a clinical consultation or personal medical advice. Think of them as if you had a close friend who is a heart failure specialist - they can help guide you, put you on the right path, tell you what questions you need answered, and be a guardian and advocate. They cannot give you specific medical advice or treat you.
Yes. Your membership information is held securely and is not shared with third parties. Within the community itself, you choose how much you share about yourself — many members use first names only and share only what they're comfortable with. The community is private and not visible to non-members.
I offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If within your first 30 days you decide the Collective isn't the right fit, contact us and I will refund your membership — no questions asked. I want people in this community who genuinely want to be here, and I have no interest in holding anyone to something that isn't serving them.
Yes. There is no lock-in contract. You can cancel your membership at any time and you will retain access until the end of your current billing period. Founding members who cancel will lose their founding member rate if they choose to rejoin later — but that is entirely your decision to make.
Yes. The content, community and live sessions are fully accessible from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Live session times are scheduled in Australian Eastern time — we will always publish the equivalent time in other major time zones, and sessions are recorded for members in different time zones. Please note that all content is general and educational in nature and does not account for local healthcare systems, guidelines or regulations outside Australia.
